About 23 and Drowning

I grew up in a lower middle class family.  We never had a lot however, it always felt like we had enough.  My parents weren't and still aren't the best savers in the world, they have lived off their credit cards for as long as I can remember and will probably never be debt free.  So when I turned eighteen it was the only way of life that I knew.  Since I had no other view on the world I got a credit card.  One card then led to another and that one led to two more and before you knew it I had over $15,000 in credit card debt.  Add to that the $40,000 or so in student loans and I am screwed.   My New Year's resolution for 2011 was to develop a plan to be debt free.  This blog is part of that plan.  This is my personal story to becoming a financially free person.

About this blog:

This is a personal finance blog (PF).  Every post on here will somehow be relate to my finances and how they affect my everyday life.  I won't be posting a lot of "how to" posts because as of right this very moment I am not an excerpt on the the "how to" of life.  If you want a "how to" post there are some very good PF blogs that I can direct you to however in this blog you will just find my personal journey to freedom.

Blog Disclaimer:

I am not a finical adviser.  I am not an expert on money (see my debt for proof of that) - however I am learning a lot about it and maybe one day I will be.  Please do not make personal finical decisions based off my blog.
